A landmark project
The SKNFA Technical Centre on ‘Monkey Hill’ north of Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, was selected by FIFA for the installation of a new artificial football field. The project was commissioned by the Saint Kitts and Nevis Football Association to enhance local football infrastructure and support the development of the sport in the region.
By offering them our approved ‘Edel Flashblade’ football system, this project was designed to deliver a top tier playing surface that meets rigorous international standards. The system offers an ideal balance of durability and performance, ensuring consistent playability across the entire field.
The project came with a fair share of challenges. Our team had to navigate the complexities of transporting necessary materials to the island location, while contending with international law, customs and the local climate. Moreover, meeting the stringent FIFA quality requirements was an absolute necessity, adding an additional layer of precision and care to the project execution.
Key features St. Kitts and Nevis
What truly set this project apart was the construction of a full retaining wall with integrated spectator stands along one side of the pitch. No turf company ever before managed to deliver such a feature within a FIFA project. This addition highlights the expertise of our engineers alongside our commitment to enhance spectator experience.
The completion of this football field represents a significant contribution to the local community. It provides a high-quality playing surface on a fantastic site, that aligns with international standards. Serving as a vital resource for the development of football in Saint Kitts and Nevis and offering a professional-grade facility for training and matches, the Island will enjoy their new pitch for many years to come.
