Edel Grass and Antea Group realize the first non-infill artificial turf pitch at football club ASC Nieuwland in Amersfoort, Holland.
It is a Soccer Blade Pro non-infill field of 40 by 50 meters. With this new non-infill artificial turf pitch, ASC Nieuwland has a scoop and will have a field consisting only of grass fibers without filler material such as sand, rubber, synthetic rubber or cork. Normally sand and rubber provide cushioning and stability. This is now provided by a ‘shock pad’, a shock-absorbing layer that lies beneath the artificial turf.
The field is specially designed for the youngest youth with a field layout according to the new game forms of the Royal Dutch Soccer Association. For the new game systems the lines are adjusted so that 6 against 6 can be played, 4 against 4 and 2 against 2. ASC Nieuwland will officially open the field on the 9th of June during the Jumbo Den Blanken youth tournament.
