In these unusual times, Edel Grass is proud to still be able to provide clients with new and professional artificial grass fields. As always, we go the extra mile to delight our clients and turn their wishes into reality. This was no different for our latest project in Paramaribo, Suriname, where we installed a brand-new FIFA certified football field in the Franklin Essed Stadion in the southwestern part of the city.
In early November, the renovation and realization of the new synthetic turf pitch was completed in the presence of the chairmen of the SVB (Surinamese Football Association), John Krishnadath and Bidjai Mankoe. We benefited the occasion to also provide the five groundsmen of the stadium with an extensive maintenance training. This way, the pitch will keep its fresh look and feel as long as possible.
Edel Flashblade installation
Despite the challenges we too are facing due to the coronavirus, we successfully installed a FIFA Quality (Pro) certified Edel Flashblade 60-14 football field, built on a dynamic base and filled with sand and SBR. The stadium quality of the Edel Flashblade field is not only a highly suitable solution for international matches, but regular football training activities as well. Our supplier W&H Sports provided us with all the professional equipment the players will need during their games and practices. Thanks to a special invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, our three installers and supervisor were allowed to travel to Suriname. There, they spent two weeks in quarantine at the Emile de la Fuente sports complex right next to the stadium. From here, they were able to install the new synthetic turf pitch, while of course only being allowed inside the stadium itself.
Local partners
Edel Grass executed this project in collaboration with our local partner Ramlal Construction. We’ve been working together for a long time. Since the start of our collaboration, we’ve realized over 40 synthetic sports fields together. In fact, among our previous projects is the Franklin Essed Stadium field, which we constructed years before in 2011. To now renovate the football field together again, completes the circle.
