Circular approach

For this pilot tender from the municipality of Amsterdam, every material choice was made with circularity in mind. Starting with one-polymer product designs. The sand infill is recycled, a ProPlay shockpad is made from recycled foam, and the performance infill is natural cork. Together, the system forms a high-quality, durable playing surface that meets all KNVB standards and is ready for intensive long-term use.

Sustainable developments

The development of Edel Athmos and Edel Xero marks an important milestone for our industry. When the unique cleaning and recycling technology used came to a halt in early 2025, the availability of clean recycled turf components changed. Still, the innovations we introduced remain in full development. Today, both Edel Athmos and Edel Xero continue with post-consumer recycled materials, keeping us on track toward a circular future and aligned with Europe’s goal of reaching 50% plastic recyclability by 2030.
