At Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School in Canada, the Waterloo Warriors community has gained more than just a new sports field. The project represents a major investment in the future of school athletics, creating a dynamic multi-sport environment where athletes, students and the wider community can come together throughout the year.
The vision for the new facility was clear from the beginning: develop a high-quality sports field capable of supporting a demanding schedule of Canadian football, soccer, youth soccer, lacrosse and field hockey, while also creating a field that truly reflects the identity and pride of the Waterloo Warriors.

A system designed for multiple sports
In collaboration with contractor 39 Seven, the project was carefully designed to combine durability, performance and visual impact. Because the field is used for multiple sports and intensive school activities, the selected system needed to deliver consistent playing characteristics, player comfort and long-term resilience under frequent use and varying weather conditions.
For this reason, the Edel Diamondblade 45/15 Field/Lime system was chosen. Featuring a 45 mm pile height, 150 stitches per meter and EPDM infill, the surface provides a reliable and professional quality playing experience across all sports disciplines. The system allows the school to maximize field usage while maintaining excellent performance and appearance throughout the seasons.
A field that represents the Warriors
Beyond functionality, the project also focused heavily on creating a strong visual identity. One of the most eye-catching features of the field is the custom multi-colour Warriors logo positioned at centre pitch, complemented by branded Warriors end zones that immediately give the venue a distinctive character. These personalized design elements strengthen school spirit and create a memorable experience for players, students and supporters alike.
The completed Waterloo Warriors field now serves as a central hub for sports and community activities at Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School. From competitive game days to youth development programs and daily training sessions, the facility is built to support the next generation of athletes while providing a vibrant and professional environment the entire school community can be proud of.
The project is a strong example of how performance-driven sports infrastructure and custom design can come together to create a facility that is both practical and inspiring.
