At Trinity School in Croydon an existing, outdated hockey pitch has been completely transformed into a modern, future-proof sports facility. The renovated pitch is now officially certified by the FIH, meaning it meets the highest international standards for hockey.
High-quality and playability
In collaboration with our contractor and partner Blakedown Sport & Play, we offered them a reliable Edel sand-dressed system as the ideal solution for the new top layer. This premium artificial turf system delivers consistent ball roll, excellent grip, and long-lasting performance.
The field also features blue run-off areas, adding a distinctive visual element while enhancing safety around the playing surface. The result is a high-quality playing surface designed to withstand intensive school use, while providing the perfect foundation for nurturing and developing young talent.
To make maximum use of the available space, lines have also been marked out for multiple playing fields. This allows Trinity School to respond flexibly to training sessions, matches and different age categories – without compromising on quality or safety.

Contractor Blakedown Sport & Play have been an Edel Grass installation partner within the UK for decades and are a leading company in the contruction of sports fields.
Working within a lively school environment requires tight planning, flexibility and attention to detail. Qualities that were clearly evident during this project. From the preparatory work to the precise finishing touches, every aspect of the construction was carried out to the highest standards, with minimal disruption to daily school activities.
