A field built to inspire the next generation of athletes

The new artificial turf field for Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School in Hamilton, Ontario, is designed to inspire students, support athletes, and bring the wider community together.

Replacing a 15-year-old surface, the new facility offers a modern sports environment where performance, safety, and reliability go hand in hand. Whether it’s a physical education class on a Monday morning, a football game under the Friday night lights, or a weekend community tournament, the field is ready for action.

Ready for every challenge

Canadian weather can be unpredictable, but sport shouldn’t have to stop because of it. That’s why Bishop Ryan chose the Edel Hybridblade T 45-13 system. A surface engineered to perform day after day, regardless of the conditions.

Its innovative fibre technology combines straight and curled fibres to create a surface that looks natural while standing up to intensive use. Together with silica sand, SBR infill and a 20 mm Schmitz Foam shock pad, the system provides excellent shock absorption, consistent ball behaviour and outstanding durability.

The result is a field that remains reliable throughout the season, requiring significantly less maintenance than natural grass while offering athletes the confidence to perform at their best.

More play. More possibilities

One of the biggest advantages of the new field is its availability. Improved drainage means fewer weather-related cancellations, allowing students and local sports clubs to make the most of the facility throughout the year.

Designed for a wide range of sporting activities, the pitch supports everything from school athletics and physical education to club training sessions and community events. More playing hours mean more opportunities to develop talent, encourage healthy lifestyles and strengthen community connections.

Precision from the ground up

Delivering a project of this scale requires more than high-quality products. It requires expertise at every stage. Installation partner 39Seven, working alongside RK and Associates, carefully coordinated every aspect of the project, from base preparation and grading to line marking, infill application and the final finishing touches.

Despite tight schedules and changing weather conditions, every detail was executed with precision to ensure a surface that will perform for years to come.
