LAMIKA is an integrated, urban neighbourhood reconstruction and recovery program being implemented (among other places) in Campeche, a poor residential neighbourhood in Port-au-Prince. The area sustained extensive damage from the earthquake
and is characterized by extreme poverty, dense housing and limited access to safe infrastructure and services.
Together with the American Red Cross, Global Communities and its partner Build Change, Edel Grass contributes in “a better life in my neighbourhood.” LAMIKA’s objective is to enhance community and household resiliency through a sustainable and integrated approach that provides healthy, habitable, and secure living conditions. There are three components: social empowerment, economic strengthening
and physical renewal.
We are proud of the final result.
